You can pre-order the ZenFone 5Q in the US

Asus ZenFone 5Q

  • You can pre-order the Asus ZenFone 5 Lite, known as the 5Q in North America, in the U.S.
  • The ZenFone 5Q is available through Amazon, though other retailers will likely also offer the phone.
  • Asus announced the ZenFone 5Q alongside the ZenFone 5 and 5Q during MWC 2018.

Announced during MWC 2018 back in February, the Asus ZenFone 5 Lite is finally available for pre-order in the U.S. as the ZenFone 5Q.

The ZenFone 5Q features a high-sheen finish around back and the same appearance as the regular ZenFone 5, with the main difference being the former’s lack of a notch. Instead, the ZenFone 5Q opts for a standard 18:9 LCD panel that covers six inches on the diagonal and features a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080.

The ZenFone 5Q also features a dual camera setup around back, with the main 16MP sensor paired with a second wide-angle sensor. There are also two cameras around front, with the 20MP selfie sensor also paired with a wide-angle sensor.

Under the hood, the U.S. version sports the Snapdragon 630 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. There is a version of the ZenFone 5Q with a Snapdragon 430, either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage, though we are not sure if that version will eventually launch in the U.S.

Elsewhere, the ZenFone 5Q runs Asus’ ZenUI 5.0 software skin on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. The phone will presumably receive Android P, though Asus can be very slow with updates.

Finally, the phone features a 3,300mAh battery, a headphone jack, and three color options: Midnight Black, Rouge Red, and Moonlight White. The U.S. version is only available in Midnight Black, though that could change over time.

If you despise the notch and like what the ZenFone 5Q offers, you can pre-order the phone at the link below for $300. According to the Amazon listing, the phone launches July 31, though it will likely be in your hands sometime after that.
