Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 series arguably represents the most value for money in the smartphone industry right now. Between the 48MP camera and 4,000mAh battery, it’s clear that you’re getting some noteworthy features for the price.
It looks like consumers are attracted to the proposition, as Xiaomi tweeted that it’s shipped four million Redmi Note 7 series phones worldwide since launch. Of course, there’s a difference between units shipped (e.g. sent to stores) and units in the hands of consumers, but it still represents a significant milestone.

The Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro both offer a 48MP+5MP rear camera pairing, 13MP selfie camera, USB-C connectivity, and a 4,000mAh battery. The standard model offers a Snapdragon 660 chipset, 3GB to 6GB of RAM, and 32GB to 64GB of expandable storage. Meanwhile, the Pro variant delivers a Snapdragon 675 processor, 4GB to 6GB of RAM, and 64GB to 128GB of expandable storage.
Xiaomi’s new rival in India, Realme, has also reported big numbers. The company said it sold 500,000 Realme 3 units in just three weeks. The brand’s latest budget phone offers a Helio P70 chipset in India (Helio P60 elsewhere), 3GB to 4GB of RAM, 32GB to 64GB of expandable storage, and a 4,230mAh battery.
There’s little doubting that both companies will see even bigger numbers as these phones launch in other markets. And Realme also has an ace up its sleeve in the upcoming Realme 3 Pro, which is expected to take the fight to the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
