- Microsoft updated SMS Organizer with a slightly reorganized UI.
- The update also introduced Hindi and Telugu as language options.
- The update should be rolling out soon.
Developed by Microsoft Garage, SMS Organizer was just updated with a refreshed user interface and additional languages, reported On MSFT.
First up is the fresh coat of paint, which moves the Messages and Reminders tabs to the top instead of the bottom and turns them into text instead of vague icons. Because of the move, the Personal, Transactions, Promotions, and Starred sections are now at the bottom. This enables easier one-handed use, since you can now swipe between tabs and tap the different sections without getting another hand involved.
Thankfully, the fresh coat of paint also threw in a darker aesthetic. SMS Organizer already had a dark theme, but it was more of a dark blue. The updated dark theme should make the app more appealing to those partial to the aesthetic, but particularly to those whose phones have AMOLED panels.
Finally, SMS Organizer now supports Indian languages Hindi and Telugu. Previously, the app only supported English.
Do not let the name fool you. In addition to text messaging, SMS Organizer surfaces and organizes credit card bills, flight information, promotional texts, and everything in between.
The app also lets you automatically back up messages to Google Drive either manually, daily, weekly, or monthly. That way, you can restore all of your messages once you move to a new device.
Unfortunately, the update does not address SMS Organizer’s main drawback: you cannot use it outside of India. Even if you download an APK, you will need an Indian phone number to authenticate through a one-time password (OTP).
