How to Reset iPhone without Passcode – iSumsoft

1. Reset iPhone without passcode via the Settings app

Step 1: Open Settings > General > Reset.

Step 2: Then click to Erase all content and settings.

Step 3: Then confirm that you want to do with the device: Finish Uploading Then Erase or Erase Now.

Waiting for your device to erase. Depending on your device, it may take a few minutes to completely delete the data.

Step 1: Connect your iPhone to your PC or Mac using a USB cable.

Step 2: Launch iTunes on your computer.

Step 3: Click the iPhone icon in the upper left corner of the window. Click the Restore iPhone button.

Step 4: iTunes confirms that you really want to restore it to the factory default settings. Choose Restore. Then iTunes will download the software for your device.

If your iPhone has “Find My iPhone” enabled, you can easily reset your iPhone without a passcode. Find my iPhone will not only help you find lost devices but also help you access your locked iPhone. Please note that using “Find My iPhone” will delete your password and all data.

Step 1: Use the other device or computer to access the Find My iPhone page.

Step 2: Log in to iCloud with your Apple ID and password.

How to reset a disabled iPhone via Recovery Mode

If your iPhone is disabled or Apple ID is locked due you forgot passwords and you’ve never synced with iTunes or set up Find My iPhone in iCloud, you can hard reset iPhone to factory settings by booting into recovery mode. Recovery mode will erase everything, including the locked password and Apple ID.

Step 1: Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.

Step 2: Then follow the steps to boot into Recovery Mode.

iPhone X or later, and iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus:

Press and hold the Side button and one of the volume buttons until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your device. Connect your device to your computer while holding the Side button. Keep holding the Side button until you see the recovery-mode screen.

iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus:

Press and hold the Side button until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your device. Connect your device to your computer while holding the Volume down button. Keep holding the Volume down button until you see the recovery-mode screen.

iPhone 6s or earlier, or iPad with Home button:

Press and hold the Side (or Top) button until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your device. Connect your device to your computer while holding the Home button. Keep holding the Home button until you see the recovery-mode screen.

In iTunes, when you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Restore.

iTunes will download software for your device. If it takes more than 15 minutes, your device will exit recovery mode and you’ll need to repeat steps 2-4.

Wait for the process to finish. Then you can set up and use your device.
