How To Disable “Allow Notifications” Prompt In Firefox

On some websites, upon spending a minute or two reading an article in Mozilla Firefox browser (or any other browser for that matter), you will see a notification asking if you would like to allow notifications from the website.

You will get Allow notifications and Not allow options to choose from. While this notification shows up almost every time you visit these types of websites, you can stop the website from requesting you to allow notifications by choosing the hidden Never allow option from the drop-down box that appears next to the Not now button.

These push notifications are used by websites to quickly inform you about the latest news, reviews and latest articles as and when they are posted. The fact is most PC users find these notifications as annoying and would like to avoid them.

If you don’t want to see websites from requesting you to allow their notifications, you can configure the Firefox preferences to stop websites from requesting your permission to send notifications. Here is how to do that.

Disable “allow notifications” pop-up in Firefox

Step 1: Open the Firefox browser. Click the Menu icon (hamburger menu icon) and then click Options to Firefox preferences page.
