How to deal with The Search request was unable to connect to search service

Me
encountered an error message "The Search request was unable to connect to search
service ”
Here I want to share the problems I have encountered
when working with a search service application on SharePoint

I have configured the application
service and create multiple content sources and use to get
results as expected. But somehow
I suddenly have a problem "The Search request was unable to connect to
search service "Here are the steps to improve
this problem:

When me
searching the 15 Hive log with the correlation id above, I found the information at
below that says "Unable to Connect to Index System"
Like the screenshot below:

I'm looking for it
on the internet and take info from various sites and find out that,
Search index issues are decreasing.
To overcome this, we need to reset
index the search service application and do a full exploration of the source
content.

In my case, I have 2 service applications
search, so I run this command to find the deep one
degraded conditions

 $ ssappn =
Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication
 Get-SPEnterpriseSearchStatus
–SearchApplication $ ssappn [0]. Name
 and then
 Get-SPEnterpriseSearchStatus
–SearchApplication $ ssappn [1]. Name

Which states
Application
the second service gave me status like degraded

So I went to Central Admin and then opened the second search service application (which was degraded) and did an index reset as shown below (you can find a link in a quick launch called "Index Reset "On the search admin page).

It took some time. When finished, do a full crawl on your content source. This can solve the problem.

If the above method does not work you can do the second option below:

Other Solutions:

– Right-click on My Computer and go to Computer management …
– Select ] Services and applications
– Starting services indexing

Option 2:

– Central Admin
> Application Management> Office SharePoint Server Shared Services> -Create
or Configure this farm's shared services

– Shared
Services Provider (drop down)> Edit Properties

– Edit Shared
Services Provider> Index Server: Verify the index server is set

Single Server Farm

On: MOSS 2007 Front End
Web / Query server:
Start> Run> CMD> stsadm.exe
-o osearch -action stop

On: MOSS 2007 Index server:
Start> Run> CMD> stsadm.exe
-o osearch -action stop

On: MOSS 2007 Index server:
Start> Run> CMD> stsadm.exe -o osearch -action start-rrole
index

In: MOSS 2007 Front End
Web / Query server:
Start> Run> CMD> stsadm.exe
-o osearch -action start -role query

Then:
-Go to Central Admin -> Operations -> Topologies and services -> Services on server
– Click " Office SharePoint Server Search

Then make sure
users have sufficient permissions to access the database.

*** Note:

If the query
Your search and indexing server are the same, so set both options "Use this server for indexing content"
and "Use this server for serving search
queries "
true

Hopefully this will be useful.
