Starting with May 2019 update, Windows 10 has some exciting options that allow you to change the mouse pointer size and color, to anything you wish. Now you are no longer stuck with using a dull white or black mouse pointer. You can make it pink, red, blue, green, or any other color you wish. You can also make the mouse pointer as large as you want. Here is how to change the mouse pointer size, and color, in Windows 10:
NOTE: The options that are shown in this guide apply to Windows 10 May 2019 Update or newer. If you do not know what Windows 10 version you have, read: How to check the Windows 10 version, OS build, edition, or type.
Step 1. Go to Windows 10’s Cursor & pointer settings
Open the Settings app on your Windows 10 PC or device. A quick way to do that is to press the Windows + I keys on your keyboard. In Windows Settings, click or tap Ease of Access.
In the column on the left, choose Cursor & pointer.
Step 2. Change the mouse pointer size
On the right side of the Settings window, look for the “Change pointer size” slider. By default, Windows 10 uses the smallest pointer size available. To increase the pointer size, move the slider to the right, and see how large the pointer becomes.
To make the pointer size smaller, move the slider to the left.
Step 3. Change the mouse pointer color
On the right side of the Settings window, look for the “Change pointer color” section. You see four options: white, black, black on a white background and white on a black background, and custom color. If you want to change the color of the mouse pointer to pink, blue, red, or some other color you like, click or tap the last option on the list. Then, you see a list of suggested pointer colors. If you like a color from the list, click or tap on it. If you want another color, click or tap “Pick a custom pointer color.”
A pop-up window is shown, where you can choose any color you wish from the whole RGB spectrum. If you know the RGB code of the color that you want to use, click or tap More.
Additional options are shown, where you can enter the code of the color that you want to use. Click or tap Done after you have entered the color code.
Enjoy your new mouse cursor, which now looks exactly as you wanted. If you want to know more about personalizing the mouse in Windows 10, read: How to configure the mouse in Windows 10
How to change the mouse pointer size and color from the Control Panel
Another personalization method can be performed from the Control Panel. However, the personalization options available are less useful than those from the Settings app.
If you want to know how to customize the mouse cursor size and color from here too, open the Control Panel, and go to the Ease of Access section.
Beneath “Ease of Access Center,” click or tap on the link that says: “Change how your mouse works.”
A window named “Make the mouse easier to use” opens. Here you find a series of mouse-related settings, starting with the size and color of your mouse pointer. In the Mouse pointers section, you can choose from three different mouse cursor colors and from three different sizes for each color. The third one has an inversion effect, which changes your mouse color depending on what color you are hovering over. Choose the size and the color that you want to use.
Do not forget to press OK to apply your changes. You can now close the Control Panel, and enjoy using the mouse pointer that you have selected.
