Easy Way to Remote MySQL Database Using Navicat

Databases may be one of the things that are often used as a daily check for developers. When you want to update the system it is not uncommon for the database to also be updated, both in terms of structure or data. Most developers really want the process to connect to the database quickly and easily. Not a few developers who use software for remote databases, in order to streamline the time they have. Instead of having to go back and forth in CPanel, they want a shortcut.

Now here I will share the remote method of using Database Navicat. I myself am very happy to use this Navicat software, besides we can remote database, we are also facilitated in making queries. But we are here focused on the remote database. Immediately we start.

MySQL Remote Database Using Navicat


  1. You must know your Public Computer IP. Click link to view Public IP.
  2. Navicat software. Click link to download Navicat.

Okay if you have prepared the ingredients.

Add our Public IP to the Database Host

Before we can remote database, we must add our IP into the list of IPs that are allowed to access the Host. Go to the menu MySQL Remote on CPanel.

Later there will be a form to add your IP. Enter your Public IP obtained from www.whatismyip.com .

Then enter the IP into the Add Access Host Form, and click Add Host.

After that we open the Navicat software that has been downloaded and installed.

Click the Connection button in the upper left corner to make a new connection.

Input: [19659005] Connection Name: [Nama Koneksi, suka-suka kita]

  • Hos Name / IP Address: [Hostname/domain/IP Address dari database]
  • Port: 3306
  • User Name: [Isi username]
  • Password: [Isi Password]
  • After that click ] Test Connection to check whether the connection is successful or not, if the connection is ok, click the OK .

    Later the connection we just created will appear on the left. If you want to remote, we can right-click Connection -> Open Connection.

    That way we can process the database in it.
