6 Ways to Create Graphs in Word for Beginners, Complete!

Graph is a presentation of data from a table that forms visualization objects in the form of images with the aim of making it easier for readers to understand information from that data. How to Create a Graph in Word

Creating graphics in Word is easy and simple. In this tutorial, I will explain how to make graphs gradually at Ms. Word 2016. Following the steps below to create a graph in Word.

A. Creating a Graph

1. Open Ms. Word on your laptop

2. Create / open the document that you want to insert the graph. Then, select Insert > Chart . as indicated by the arrow in the image below.

3. After that, in the Insert Chart window select the type of graphic you want. Click OK . (Here, I choose 3-D Clustered Column )

4. Well, the results will look like in the picture below. There is a graph of the type chart you selected along with a table of the contents of the data that you can update.

5. To change the contents of the graph, you must change the data in the table as shown below.

6. Changes to the table will automatically change the contents / form of the graph as shown below.

7. If the window of your data table is closed, you can reopen it by selecting the Design tab > Edit Data .

B. Reverse Position of Line Data and Columns

1. You can exchange row data into columns on your chart. For example, on your chart data is displayed by product type in 3 months. You want to change the graph so that it displays data by month with 4 types of products.

2. First, click on your graph, then choose Edit Data > Switch Row / Column .

C. Changing Chart Title

Chart Title or graphic title is the title of the graph which must describe the entire contents of the data in the graph clearly and precisely.

1. Click on Chart Title change the text Chart Title to a title that matches your chart.

D. Adding Chart Elements

You can add several elements to your chart called Chart Elements . There are several chart elements like

  • Axis Title is the title of vertical and horizontal axis. Vertical axis (vertical axis / y axis) is a vertical part of a graph which is usually a value / size of a column. Whereas, horizontal axis (horizontal axis / x axis) is the horizontal part of a graph which is usually a category of information submitted in a graph.
  • Chart Title is the title of the graph that must describe the entire contents of the data in the graph clearly and precisely.
  • Data Labels is a label in the form of the value of each data in a graph.
  • Legend is used to describe data series that represent each color of a graph.

1. Click on your chart, then click the "+" icon which is on the right side of the graph as shown below. Check the elements to be added. Here, I want to add Axis Title .

2. You can change the text of Axis Title by clicking it. Then, replace it according to your needs.

1. Click on the tab Design > Add Chart Element, then select which type of chat element to enter. For example, here I choose Data Table > With Legend Keys .

E. Changing the Graph Type

Does it not match the chart you selected? You certainly can still replace it.

1. Click on your chart then select the Design tab > Change Chart Type as indicated by the arrow in the image below.

2. Select the type chart you want. Then, click OK .

F. Changing the Chart Layout

Do you want to quickly and easily change your layout / structure of your graphics display? Use the Quick Layout s feature as described below.

1. Click on your chart then select the Design tab > Quick Layout . In Quick Layout select and click the type of layout that you need as shown by the arrow below. The results will look like in the picture below.

G. Changing Graphic Design

There are two ways to change your graphic design, namely

FIRST

1. Click on your chart, then select the Design tab > Style (in the Chart Styles section ) as indicated by the red box in the image below.

BOTH

1. Click on your chart then click on the chart styles which is on the right side as indicated by the arrow in the image below. Select the type style you want. The results will look like in the picture below. Here, I choose Style 2 .
