2 Ways to Use the Android Device Manager (For Beginners)

Android Device Manager or ADM is a software made by Google, which can allow us to track our lost Android devices, erase data remotely, protect when devices are factory reset forcibly, and can even lock the device is so that it cannot be used by the thief.

A. Activating Tracking Services on Android

1. First, make sure in advance the version of Android that you are using is a 2.2 or higher system. Because the underlying system will not be used because it does not have Google Play Service. How do you check the Android version system?

  • Please open Settings on your Android. As shown below:

2. Then, please log in to your Android device using the Google account that you have. Usually Android users have signed in using their respective accounts. But if you are not logged in, you can add it. How to do it?

  • Please open Settings on your Android. As shown below:

  • Then, you can see several accounts that are already on your Android device. If, your Google Account is not yet available, please click add account . But, if a Google account is available, please click on the Google account to ascertain whether or not the account is yours.

  • Then, you will see a google account that is mounted. If it's really yours, just ignore it. Continue to the next step.

3. Then, please turn on your device's location service. So that your device can be displayed on the map. How to do it?

  • Please open Settings on your Android. As shown below:

  • Then, please click Privacy . Like in the picture below.

  • Then, please click location button until green, which means active.

4. Then, set the device administrator so that your device can be found on the map. how do?

  • Please open Settings on your Android. As shown below:

  • Then, please click Find My Device button until it is green.

5. Then, please open Google Settings to set your device to be found. How to do it?

  • Please open Google Settings on your Android. As in the picture below.

B. Track Android Devices

1. First, please open the website google.com/android/devicemanager . Then, please log in using the Google account that is already installed on your Android device.

2. Then, there will be 3 choices for you. There is play sound, secure the device, and wipe the device. Please select the option you want so that your device can be found.

3. If you select Play Sound your device will ring for 5 minutes. If you have found it, you can click stop ringing.

4. Then, if you choose Secure the Device your cellphone will be locked so that no one can open it. You can enter the password as you wish.

5. Then, if you choose Wipe Device all data will be permanently deleted. And you won't be able to find it again, unless your cell phone is back online.
